Project 1: Bike to basics

Context

In today's society, our generation is more inclined to have or rent a bike in their daily life. It's healthier, more eco-friendly and popular.
But what about parents? How can we encourage them to go Bike to basics? A problem can exist for parents who have little children. Most of them use their car to drop off their kids at school. Services like Velo'v in Lyon are not suitable for parents with kids because bicycles size isn't designed for kids. Therefore, a frange of the population is limited in terms of green mobility , and are nearly forced to use cars.

In that way, by getting children to use bicycles from their earliest days, Bike to basics also want to educate them and encourage them to adopt a mobility more responsable when they will be adults.

Target

We want to target young parents (around 30 years old) living in Lyon, who have the will to use bike in their daily life. The service will not exist in the suburb because of practical issues.

Service offered

The heart of our project:

A tricycle which allow you to have a ride with 2 children.
So we need tricycle stations near schools, supermarket and stratégical points. The user can rent a bike for an amount of time like the VéloV service.

The app will have a map to know where you can find the stations (via google maps), a review of the carbon emissions you avoid by taking a bike ride and a path calculator.

The app will also provide traffic information to arrive at school on time ! If you are near by a nice location for an educative activity, the app immediately notifies you along with the routes, attractions and the location of the bike stands.


Parents can collect miles and when they reach a step of X kilometers, they will get an educative gift from our partners.

Identity

Web interface
Our web interface will contain a map with the different stations where you can rent a tricycle. You will have the possibility to get registered and read feedbacks from other users. The web interface will provide testimonies from other parents and their children.

The app have to be more pratical rather than informative:
  • It will mainly contain a map with the stations and cycle paths.
  • A system to unlock the bikes
  • Payement informations
  • Contact informations
    • When someone wants to rent a bike, he will have to open the app, enter its personnal informations (such as credit card, age, name, cellphone number...) and then he will be allowed to unlock a bike. He will be able to search for cycle paths or a tricycle station.

    Project 2: Ride the city

    Context

    Sharing moment with children is really important for parents, they want to have particular moments and educate children about the world around. Usually, after learning to walk, the next step is learning to ride a bike. The bike experience will teach to children how to behave to go to a location to an other with being ecological. Parents also want to show the city to the world, educate to child with culture and not only to go to the park.
    But what if parents don't know where to take them for an educative bike ride?
    RIDE YOUR BIKE will make your biking experience around the city more entertaining and educative. This application will show speficic path for family rides. During these path, riders will have detailed informations about the monuments and famous places that they crossed during their bicycle ride. The application will make the rides more enjoyable and safe for children.

    Target

    The first targeted clientele is young adults, with one or two children. This parents are living in the center (or near) of a big city and are willing to have cultural activities with their children.
    The children are older than 8 to be interested in cultural activities and to know how to ride a bike. The tourists with children are also a part of our targeted users.

    Service offered

  • Tracking the bike ride using GPS technology
  • Detailed information sheet about the monuments and places crossed by during the ride.
  • Pictures of the places (to locate the place and remember the moment in the bike)
  • Historical detailded about the monument
  • Ideas of activities for a break during the bike ride

    • For a family with two children who wants to visit Lyon, the app will show them a selection of different path. If the family choose to visit the midle of the city, the person with the smarphone can add a preference and choose the path with a stop at the museum of confluence of example. The app will show the direction, the duration and other activities that the family can do.

    Our Web interface will be a platform where people will get registered. They will be intimations about the app, how to use it, a link to download the app, feedbacks and coments of users regarding their experience. Our app will contain a map with selection of path to go. You can registed to add your family's specifications such as the age of the children, the number of them and other preference. Inside the app, they will be cultural information and a selection of activity ideas to do cith children.

    • is a famous website that reference many touristic attraction. Our app is different because it geolocated the position and with preference guide a path with location.
  • GuideMoov, it's an app which can locate you and give you informations like a tour guide. Ride your City is different because GuideMoov focus only on little anecdote, here we need to adapt on the ride particularities (short stories when you ride, and longer when you decide to stop and learn a bit more).
